Behind my friend's house. We adopted her 2 days ago. Poor teeny girl was so terrified she didn't move from that carrier all night, barely blinked.

Next day, took her to the vet, they were such pros! She was super calm, even purring! Terrible fleat infestation, but seemingly healthy otherwise. They guessed at around 12w old.

Brought her home, gave her a bath- she purred the entire time! She purred herself to sleep while I was brushing and drying her. She even let me clip her insanely long claws with 0 resistance or fuss. She really seemed like she must really miss her mommy grooming her, and was touch-starved and so grateful to be cleaned and cuddled.

I'm so excited for her to integrate into our family. Our 2y old adopted kitty is somewhat scared of this 2.5lb beauty, which is going to be interesting to navigate. I feel so lucky this lil one is chill, I was worried she'd be adverse to people and high-strung. When I first tried to pick her up, she squirmed out then jumped/fell all over herself to get away, fled to the spot behind our toilet and cowered.

amiradawn Eyes of a cat that has seen a lot of pain Thank you for saving her

DiligentDaughter OP I couldn't do anything else. I can't wait to see her chub up and learn it can be great to be a cat!

LaurenAZGoodGirl She looks like a ragdoll, and from your post, she behaves like one. We adopted a "drain pipe ragdoll" (sadly now gone over ☐ ) who was the seeetest animal eh-fur), whose name was Indio. Good luck with your sweet baby! Bless you for adopting!

DiligentDaughter OP I have 0 idea, I've never been a "cat person" so to speak. Whatever she is, she's our gorgeous and sweet hedge baby!

Kiremgy 5th pic OMG she's MAD XD

DiligentDaughter OP Funnily enough, she wasn't at all mad! She really enjoyed being bathed and brushed and trimmed. I think it was because she was super filthy, just covered in flea dirt and stuff caked in her floof. And was touch-starved. Her face says otherwise though LOL

Scared-Hope-868 Normal behavior for a cat that has escaped. I'd bet she belongs to someone within a few houses of that location.

DiligentDaughter OP My friend had been feeding her for more than a week before she told me about her. Every time she'd even come near the sliding glass door when the kitten was in her yard, kitty would bolt. Then last week, it poured down rain, poor kitty was soaked, and friend sent me a pic, asking what she could do.

The kitten had seemingly been loving in the hedge behind her house. The area has a large feral cat population, as well. When she put out the cat trap, she actually caught an adult ginger first, that she took to a shelter. I told her if she was able to catch the kitten, I'd adopt her.

Kitten was so skinny, coated in fleas and filth, and just young that it's hard to believe she escaped someone's home. She must have been less than 9 weeks when my friend first spotted and started feeding her. If I had to guess, I'd guess either her mom escaped, while pregnant or got pregnant on the streets, or was a street cat herself.
